What to Expect

I look forward to welcoming you to the office for an initial in-person consultation. Once an attorney-client relationship has been established, some decision-making, paperwork and draft review will be required—but I will be available to assist you every step of the way! Planning and design meetings can either be held in person or online at your convenience. I offer paper and electronic communication options to suit your preference.

A typical estate plan will consist of a governing document (either a Will or a Trust), a general Power of Attorney to ensure that someone is legally authorized to act on your behalf if you become incapacitated during your lifetime, and health care documents such as Oregon’s statutory Advance Directive. Additional documents may be required for real property, business interests, or complex charitable gifts. While every situation is unique, in most cases clients are ready to sign after reviewing 1-2 sets of drafts.
